A beautiful Fairyland Lustre Bowl circa. 1920 designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones. She started her Oriental designs in 1911 and moved to her Fairyland Lustre designs in 1915.
This delightful Lustre Footed Bowl is mottled Cream Iridescent with a vibrant lustre orange interior showing a large colourful Butterfly motif in the base. The exterior of the bowl depicts three butterflies in different forms of flight. The rim of the bowl has a deep decorative gilded border on both the outside and inside. There is also a decorative border on the foot of the bowl.
In excellent condition for its age the base bears the Portland Vase Wedgewood Mark. The bowl measures 9 cm in diameter across the top, 5 cm in height and 5 cm across the base. It bears no chips or crazing and is a very nice piece of Wedgewood Lustre.
